Planned to hike in a lot further but with it being 1 o'clock, needing to get back by 6, and the creek looking so good I only ended up hiking about half the distance. The action was hot from the get go, with plenty of 'bows and browns from the first few runs/pockets. I started out with a #14 Parachute Adams and switched to an October Caddis much later in the day.



Pictures just can't do places like this justice. The leaves looked more colorful than I thought they would, though these pictures don't show it well.



There are plenty of pockets like this along the entire stream, most of them holding fish. You don't need to cast very far, but you better be stealthy and create natural presentations if you want to fool these wiley trout.



This stream holds all 3 species, and all were caught this day (sorry no brookie pic, he came unbuttoned when getting camera). The browns were very active, and I saw a few cruising up and down, though none were quite paired up yet.



I like rocks?



The rainbows were full of energy, mostly holding in the swifter runs. These guys pull a lot harder (on a 3-wt) than their size would suggest.



I usually wade wet until late October, but I must confess that the water was pretty chilly. Definitely tried not to get to the waistline this day.







Last fish of the day, and not too shabby -- maybe 11 inches. Looked like he has been eating well.

Overall it was an awesome few hours on the water and I hope to get back to it soon. Fall is and will always remain my favorite time of the year to fish. If you haven't had a chance to get out yet I recommend you try to in the next few weeks.

By the way, I know some of you guys know what stream this is, but if you'd mind not naming it in public view, I, as well as others, would really appreciate it.
