Due to work conflicts I missed the RedX weekend M&G at Rivers Edge Campground. As it worked out I was able to make it down this last weekend. Dave had us set up with a great tent site, he also gave us some hot tips, as did Brownale, Dennis and Eddie.
Dennis brought his boat and came to fish us on Friday, it is always a treat to fish with Dennis.
We fished close to the campground on Thursday afternoon Black Drum, Trout, Croakers, Blues, and of course Pinfish were hitting trolled cranks and plastics. Friday Dennis and Glenn fished from the boat mostly in Smith Creek, I fished some in Smith Creek and on into Vandemere Creek Dennins and Glenn found some Reds in Smith creek and I picked up some nice trout trolling between Smith and Vandmere. Sat we went the other way and fished some in the mouth of Chapel Creek and along the docks out on the main channel. I got my first Red, and first inshore slam. (as long as the flounder doesn't have to measure up) Sunday morning we had the pleasure of fishing with Eddie in Trent Creek, we got into some bigger reds and Eddie caught one legal flounder. Not sure of the total numbers but it was a great weekend the highlight of which was a 20 1/2 inch red on the way back to the landing Sunday. Here are some pics I didn't take a lot of pics due the strong winds. reeling in a fish and getting it back in the water ASAP and you were still paddling back from 50 to 100 yds from were you hooked it. Notice the pinfish with the tail missing, something snapped it off on the way in.
I wish I could have been there with everyone else, but it was still a great trip.
