Went out Friday night off Cedar Island around 7 pm to go Drum fishing with a couple buddies of mine. We rigged up some drum rigs with about 10 inch mullet cut into chunks. We were in about 7 foot of water the entire night. About 15 min into fishing the first Drum hit. It was amazing. 10 min later the next one hit but slowed down almost immediately. Once the moon came up it was back on, one after another. Chunks of mullets cut about 2 inches wide, and didnt matter if it was the body or the head of the mullet, they were tearing them up. If the bait sat on the bottom more than 20 min then we switched them out. we never had to switch a poles bait out more than one time before a Drum hit it. 17 total Reds were caught 35 lbs to 50+ lbs. Lost 1 or 2 but nontheless it was a very good night.
