My daughter Jessie is headed to college next week and before leaving home she really wanted to catch at least one old red drum near our family home in Oriental. So this morning we met Capt. Dave Stewart of PamlicoTackle.com (Knee Deep Charters/Minnesott Beach Bait and Tackle) at the wildlife ramp in Oriental at 6AM. We fished till 11AM and boated three nice old Red Drum. Jessie boated two by herself and I assisted with the third by fighting it a bit (which I was happy to do), but I wanted her to pull in as many as we could hook up with this morning. She boated a 47" female, a 38" male (big fighter!) and another 47" female who had bigger shoulders! Beautiful fish!
We had a nice storm last night and it is storming again this afternoon, so Capt. Dave's call to fish this morning was a perfect one. It was a beautiful morning on the water and we had a great time. It is always enjoyable to be with Capt. Dave. If you haven't caught one of these beautiful fish do yourself a favor and give Capt. Dave a call and schedule a half or full day trip. I love these fish! And I think Jessie is hooked too!
Here are some of the pictures we took. Capt. Dave is sending me more and I'll add later.
