After FishinCary left, Tony and I had back-to-back 15 lb channel cats, and around 1:30 PM the bite picked up and we caught 7 more fish. Tony broke his PB with a beautiful 17lb 7 oz fish and I landed the big fish of the day ay 20 lbs 2 oz. All fish were handled and safely released with a landing mat and soft mesh net.

To say these fish fight hard is an understatement...these were some of the hardest fighting carp I've ever had the pleasure to catch

Next time I am headed to the lake, I will post up on the forum. Anyone who is interested in seeing what carping is all about is welcome to stop by and join next time. Come see us!

Wife and I were fishing last week and wandered into a shallow bay off the main lake. There was at least 50 large carp in the 15-20 lb range, including a bright orange Koi, in the shallows spawning. The water was boiling and splashing like the old movies of the pirana eating the brave explorer. Even our dog got interested in the ruckus. It was really something to see and we made several movie clips that I later converted to a single DVD home movie.
