Fished Badin Lake from the yak yesterday morning. Absolutely beautiful morning to be on the water! Smooth like glass, and water surface temps in the upper 70's. No action on a frog in the dawn hour, but after daybreak I managed a nice hybrid while trolling a crank from one cove to the next. No pics of that one. Solid hit, but little fight. I caught a few bream in the back of a cove on a white rooster tail after that. Later in the morning, I continued to fish off the grass edge, using a Berkley 7" Powerworm in Pumpkinseed, texas rigged with a 1/4 bullet weight. I had a lot of taps from the little guys, but no success. Finally, I was able to set the hook on this one:

16" and a tad under 2 lbs.
Later, while continuimg to fish off the grass, I managed another:
18.5" and 3 lbs.
The action was slow, but I managed a few decent bass. For the two pictured, I never felt a tap, just the weight before I set the hook. I missed another nice fish between these two, and also had one of my powerworms come back missing the tail. I was on the water around 5:30am and off by noon. I would have stayed out longer, but had other plans in the afternoon.
Be safe out there on this holiday weekend!
